Hi all,
Here is the draft members newsletter copy for review and comment. It will be published using an HTML template (which will allow us to make it look nice) provided by the BPS and distributed through the existing system.
Please add any comments within this forum by 11th Feb, as I plan to have this distributed w/c 14th Feb.
In particular we need to agree what incentive we will provide for existing members to introduce new members (the easiest way to recruit). Currently I'm planning to run with entry into a monthly draw for free attendance up to £100 in value at an SGCP event, using the existing laborious 'download an application form' process until we can get something better in place.
Also if anyone knows whether we have any 'generic' SGCP email addresses that would be appreciated eg 'membership@sgcp.com'

and to encourage referral based recruitment.

Welcome to the new format SGCP newsletter. We've changed it to make it more engaging, interesting and informative. The main objective of this edition is to keep you informed of what is happening in your group at national and regional levels, encourage you to take advantage of the many benefits of your membership and help you develop your knowledge and skills in coaching psychology.

Presented by Dr. Manfusa Shams, a chartered psychologist, a chartered scientist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She has edited a book on international business and published a number of journal articles and is a consulting editor for The Coaching Psychologist.

We are now up to 15 regional groups, known as 'Peer Practise Groups' and the number of enquiries is still growing to establish more groups around the country. The latest groups established include City of London, Edinburgh and Glasgow districts.

[Background – The purpose of this newsletter is to inform and encourage members to participate in SGCP activities;Peer Practise Groups, email based SGCP communication, Accreditation Survey, Events and Social Media.

We will need to amend our application form to include the 'Introduced By ' info – see 'Win a £25 voucher' below. The draw should be held every month and run for a 6 month trial period, to be continued if it is giving a positive return on investment.

1st International Congress of Coaching Psychology,

14th and 15th December 2010, London

This is the first in a series of events which form part of an International Congress held around the world. The SGCP co-sponsored stage will enhance the global integration of this rapidly developing discipline and profession; bringing together the coaching psychology community. Each day will involve a mix of Research Papers, 90 Minute Skills Sessions, Keynotes, Half Day Master classes, and Invited Speaker Sessions featuring the leaders in Coaching Psychology from around the world.

In an effort to phase out our quill pens,carrier pigeons, franking machines and photocopiers, not to mention saving rain forests and reducing our carbon footprint we are working hard to adopt electronic communications with members wherever possible. Members Newsletter Summer 2010 - Draft for review

Hi All

Here is the first draft of a suggested newsletter to go out to all members soon, as discussed at the last committee meeting.

As well as the items discussed at the meeting (PPG, Accreditation, Conference) I've added in another couple of suggested items which occurred to me after the meeting that would give us extra value.

I'd like to get this finalised and ready for printing and despatch by a week today if possible (ie 2nd July) so all comments appreciated ASAP, ideally in the SGCP Forum in reply to this message, so we can all see all comments.

A question for everyone - do we currently have a tool or subscription to a tool to allow us to conduct on-line web based surveys ? If not I'd propose one called iContact which I use for many client projects, which is very low cost and works well.
