Developing Coaching Skills for International Business: Transferable and Culturally AppropriateDr Manfusa Shams and Professor David Lane 2nd July, 2010 1.30pm-4.30pm (Registration from 1.00pm ) A half day workshop to be held at the BPS London Office, Tabernacle Street, London The essential framework for delivering coaching skills for international business is embedded within the structural social system. As such the needs for international business coaching skills will be best served if the structural components within a social group/culture are incorporated into the coaching skills enhancing activities. The workshop is based on developing transferable coaching skills for application to international business organizations, with an appreciation of present global economic crises. We will also consider issues of complexity drawing on work by Stacey, Cavanagh and Lane for multinational contexts. The workshop will be structured around two major themes of international business coaching - ‘culturally appropriate’ and ‘transferable coaching’.

Dr. Manfusa Shams is a Chartered Psychologist engaged in occupational and business psychology teaching and research. Dr. Shams is a consulting editor for The Coaching Psychologist Prof. David Lane has been coaching in a wide range of private and public sector organisations’ for thirty years. His research and practice includes SME’s as well as multinationals. Prof. Lane is a co-editor for International Coaching Psychology Review.
Each attendee will receive a Workshop attendance certificate as evidence for CPD Logbooks or Practitioner-in-Training Logbooks.
A conference fee of £90 for SGCP, DOP, SCP, ABP, Coaching at Work subscribers and Association for Coaching Members /£120 for BPS members, £140 for Non-Members and £65 for part-time students /£45 for full-time students, needs to be paid, in advance, to secure a place at the event (all prices inc.
