Paul O. OlsonA version of this paper was presented at the 3rd National Coaching Psychology Conference in December, 2007. This paper is a more elaborate version of a speech given at the 3rd National Conference of the Special Group for Coaching Psychology in 2007. It looks at a diversity of definitions of coaching and executive coaching as well as reviews available research from a business perspective. The executive context has several unique features and the article concludes that executive coaching needs to be different from other types of coaching. Keywords: executive coaching, assumptions, reflexivity, construct validity, meta-review. Full article: Volume 4, Issue 3 pages 151 - 159
