This paper provides a brief overview of research into coaching in one specific safety critical environment - driving. The paper will briefly review the issues behind the research agenda, summarise the four peer-reviewed papers which have been published and their implications for driving practice and policy, as well as for coaching research and practice. Finally the paper will set out the agenda for further research being undertaken in this area of ‘safety coaching’ to support behavioural change and learning.
