Welcome to this issue of The Coaching Psychologist, which provides a wealth of articles covering topics such as Lessons from the Norwegian coaching industry’s attempt to develop joint coaching standards, Balancing business empathy and psychology in coaching practice, The wider role for coaching psychology and Effective boundary management. We have two contributions to the Coaching Psychology Techniques section; Prof. Stephen Palmer and Christine Dunkley on A behavioural approach to BIG problems encountered in coaching and Prof. Stephen Palmer writes about the Step-up imagery technique. This issue also includes the Coaching Psychology in Action section by Dr Emma Short (SGCP Research Officer) and our regularly featured Ethics Column from Julie Allan (SGCP Ethics and Social Policy Liaison Officer) inviting you to share your views on ethical issues and challenges. Jennifer Liston-Smith (SGCP Conference and Events Reporter) also provides a comprehensive round-up of the 2nd European Coaching Psychology Conference as well as sharing highlights from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Nov, 2009) and Association of Coaching (March, 2010) Conferences. For this issue we have also included a Letters to the Editor section and a featured book review. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the contributors who have enabled us to present such an interesting issue. I am always keen to hear your views and suggestions about The Coaching Psychologist and can be e-mailed at [email protected]. On a final note, please look out for the advert about the forthcoming 1st International Congress of Coaching Psychology 2010-2011. Siobhain O’Riordan
