The 1st European Coaching Psychology Conference promises to be an historic event for the development of coaching psychology in Europe and beyond. The event is sponsored by the British Psychological Society Special Group in Coaching Psychology as part of its annual national conference programme. It will be held at the University of Westminster, London, on the 17 and 18 of December, 2008.

A key message at the conference is highlighting the psychology in coaching. The keynote speeches, invited papers, focused and research papers and the symposia all demonstrate this connection directly or indirectly. The two-day conference will be an opportunity to network with colleagues from around Europe. There will be a roundtable on coaching psychology which will update us on developments across Europe.

This year our keynotes and invited speakers include Dr Tatiana Bachkirova, Jens Boris Larsen, Dr Siegfried Grief, Dr Kristina Gyllensten, Prof Alex Linley, Dr Michel Moral, Dr Siobhain O’Riordan, Prof Stephen Palmer, Dr Rune Ronning and Dr Reinhard Stelter. Sir John Whitmore has kindly agreed to return this year to give a masterclass too.

To give us an insight into the conference keynote speakers, their views on issues related to coaching psychology and what their speech is about, they have been interviewed by e-mail for The Coaching Psychologist and the European conference website.
