Folowing on from the success of the 2005 Event Programme the event team has seen a busy start to this year. We have already confirmed two one-day events for the 2006 Event Programme, which will be held in London:

  • 30 June: ‘Managing Personal and Client Stress in Coaching Psychology’, facilitated by Jenny Summerfield.
  • 7 September: ‘Positive Psychology in Coaching Psychology’.

Both of these events will include topics which are of interest to Coaching Psychologists and offer opportunities for continued professional development for SGCP members.

In order to make SGCP events more accessible to members we are in the process of planning to introduce a series of Tele- Events this year. In particular, we hope that this event format will enable members to participate where they have previously been unable to do so due to perhaps time availability or the location of the venue. We will also be offering events in different regions of the UK which will include the North and Scotland.

Following the findings from the 2005 BPS SGCP Survey, we have identified a number of areas of Coaching Psychology practice which are of particular interest to our members. As part of our ongoing events programme, we are keen to source speakers/facilitators in a number of key areas that have been highlighted by SGCP members as of particular interest to them. To take this forward we will also be inviting SGCP members to submit proposals for running ‘SGCP Professional Development Workshops’ to source a title for an October 2006 event and for the 2007 Event Programme.

Planning for the SGCP Third Annual National Conference is now also under way and this will be held on the 18 and 19 December, 2006. We have scoped a number of different venues and found that City University is able to offer the best conference venue based on both cost and location.

Further details and updates on the 2006 Event Programme and the SGCP Third Annual National Conference will be announced on the ‘News’ page of the SGCP website www.coachingpsychologyforum.org.uk as soon as they become available.

With such a varied 2006 Event Programme we do hope you can attend or participate in one or more SGCP event(s) in 2006.
