THE 2012 SGCP Annual Conference gave me the chance to offer a session, as the outgoing Ethics and Social Policy Officer, to those interested in being as skilful as possible in navigating their work ethically. I included Michaell

Carroll’s approach to ethical maturity (see Carroll & Shaw, 2013), which was found a useful way of reflecting on our own approach to dilemmas in practice. For me, the interesting thing about ethical practice is that it isn’t the dull or weighty list of Thou Shalt Nots that the word ‘ethics’ seems to conjure up for some.
