Emma is a Chartered Health
Psychologist. Her applied coaching work focuses on health and lifestyle issues,
supporting clients in self-regulation and health management behaviours, whilst
her academic work addresses a broader coaching base. Emma is committed to widening participation in education and
employment and has provided services as a consultant to national charities
whose work is focused in this area.
Emma’s work at the
University of Bedfordshire includes the development and delivery of
undergraduate and post graduate courses in Psychology. Her areas of specialised
teaching are in coaching, counselling, health and some areas of forensic
psychology. Most recently she has initiated an undergraduate coaching psychology
module, which equips psychology undergraduates with the skills and knowledge to
operate at pre-practitioner level.
She
is committed to the aims of the SGCP and the further development of Coaching
Psychology. Emma’s research is active in a number of areas, primarily she is
involved in ongoing research designed to monitor and evaluate the training and
process of coaching. She is committed to the continued development of standards
and practice within the profession.
