Ruth Cohen

   

Moderator Email Discussion Group

Ruth is an applied psychologist with an MSc in Health Psychology, MSc in Counselling Psychology, a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a certificate in EMDR. She is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist.


She provided CBT interventions and consultations in the NHS and the private sector. Her main areas of clinical interest are in mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, PTSD, stress, eating disorders, somataform disorders, chronic illness, pain, disability, occupational difficulties, rehabilitation, return to work, career change, adjustment, EMDR and CBT clinical supervision. Her research interests are related to health beliefs and chronic illness.


Ruth has been adapting and applying her CBT skills in coaching patients to make life adjustments, achieve improved quality of life and enhance performance and functioning. She was enthusiastic about the opportunity to join the SGCP as a founder member. She wishes to further her coaching skills and contribute from her knowledge, experience and pragmatic approach to the advancement of the SGCP. She is serving as a Co-Administrator of the SGCP E-mail Discussion List
