We are now upto 15 groups advertising on the SGCP web site and the number of enquiries is still growing. With a new group starting in the very centre of the City of London, and another new group covering the Edinburgh/Glasgow districts.

The numbers are also increasing for those that are attending the groups as the word travels about the benefits of attending a peer practice group including: new coaching styles, being informed of coaching psychology topics and networking with fellow coaching psychologists.

Plus, creating new membership opportunities by advertising our presence at conferences and talking about the benefits of being a SGCP member.

As the peer practice groups are focused on the use of psychology in coaching, in line with BPS guidelines and ethics, the groups are hosted/co-hosted by a chartered psychologist.? Hosts have been provided with guidelines for running the groups.? These include some suggested formats to ensure that the focus is on developing required competencies of coaching psychologists.

Topics discussed recently at the Cambridge group included:

• Levels of coaching and skills enhancing coaching
• Identifying themes for developing coaching models
• Needs assessment for good coaching in the local region
• User perspectives in developing localized coaching models
• Exploring statistical figures for existing coaching psychologists in the region
• Diverse coaching practices and integration
